What is a recess measurement?

A recess measurement can be best described as the space inside of your window. A recess-fit blind will sit within the opening of your window, without overlapping onto the wall. To take the correct measurements for a recess-fit blind, measure the inside width of your window in three places, writing down the shortest. This is your recess width. Then measure the inside length of your window in three places, writing down the shortest. This is your recess drop.

We will reduce your recess sizes to ensure the blind fits within the opening accurately. For further help check our “how to measure page”.

What “working tolerances” do you deduct if I select a recess measurement?

As our blinds are made to measure, we take a small deduction from the measurements you provide to ensure a perfect fit.

Will I be provided with the fitting instructions with my blinds?

All blinds are supplied with fitting instructions, included in the packaging of your product.

What type of brackets do you supply?

All of products are supplied with suitable installation brackets.

Will I get screws with my blinds?

The correct number of standard fitting screws will be generally be supplied with wood and faux wood blind only , all other blinds screws will have to be purchased from your local DIY store.

Do you offer overseas deliveries?

We currently deliver to UK mainland, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Scottish Islands and the Channel Islands.

Can I have my goods delivered to another address other than my billing address?

Sorry not thought our website, but we may be able to help if you order by phone.

What happens if I miss my delivery?

A card will be left to organize a re- delivery or pickup from local depot.

What are the procedures if my goods are lost by the courier?

All Couriers we use have a tracking system, so we should be able to find out what went wrong. We would then decide the best solution to get your order delivered.

Which courier do you use to deliver my blinds?

We use various couriers depending on the product.

Where are the blinds manufactured?

All of our products are manufactured by major manufactures’ on our behalf, but all of our products are made within the UK

Are the blinds covered under a warranty?

All of our blinds are covered by a 12-month standard warranty.

My blind cord keeps breaking?

Some our blinds are fitted with ‘breakaway chain connectors’, they can give the appearance of being broken. This is not usually the case – just push the chain back together. These blinds are built this way to break under pressure, avoiding the risk of strangulation.

What child safety procedures do you have in place for your products?

All of our blinds have been extensively tested and are fitted with child safety devices.

Which blind would be most suitable for a bathroom?

Wooden, Roller, Venetian and Vertical blinds are all suitable for bathrooms.

How accurate are your product images?

Whilst we make every effort to ensure the product imagery shown is as accurate as possible, some images may not be a true to life depiction of the actual material or certain images may not be available. Lifestyle shots are provided as a guide to show the fabric made into a blind and the actual blind shown may not be the same style or type of blind for this product. If you do have any queries surrounding our products or would like further imagery, please contact our customer services department. We also offer a free and fast sampling service of all our blinds.

How do I clean my blinds?

Blinds can be wiped with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use any type of detergent to clean your blind as this may damage or stain the blind. Do not oil or lubricate any part of the blind.

What if I want to cancel my order?

West Yorkshire Blinds offers no cancellation right for our custom-made and made-to-measure products, which includes any blinds on our website. However, if you change your mind before your goods are manufactured, we may be able to halt production, although this is not a guarantee. It is therefore important to contact us as soon as possible if you wish to cancel your order, and we may be able to refund your purchase, minus any costs incurred. Any express orders cannot be cancelled due to their urgent production.

Am I able to amend my order once it has been processed?

If ordered on a standard delivery rate, you may be able to amend your order within 24 hours. Any express orders cannot be amended.

What can I do if my blinds do not fit or the size is wrong?

We recommend you check your email order confirmation to ensure that you have placed your order correctly before contacting us for a refund. It is very important that the measurements you provide us with are accurate. We are sure you will understand that we cannot accept the return of the goods if the measurements you have provided us are incorrect, as we are unlikely to be able to resell them.

I do not like the colour of my blind, can I return it?

Custom-made goods cannot be returned to us. If you wish to sample any colours or fabrics to ensure that you are happy with your chosen blind colour before ordering, we’re happy to provide free samples.

Can I get a sample?

Yes you can order up to three samples free of charge.
